I’m Sonia, a third-year Integrative Biology major with a minor in Health and Wellness at UC Berkeley. I’ve been involved in AMWA since my first semester (freshman fall) and am passionate about community service, health education, and creating opportunities for others. Outside of school, I love to bake and cook, travel with my family, and binge-watch shows with my roommates.
Outside of AMWA, I am the co-president of the Hidden Road Initiative at UC Berkeley, a student-run club that fundraises to provide educational and leadership opportunities for students living in remote villages in Armenia. I am also an active member of the Armenian Student Association, a community that is very meaningful to me as an Armenian.
One of my favorite AMWA memories was the Puppy Yoga event – it was such a fun and uplifting experience! I also really enjoyed getting closer to the board during our retreat to Bodega Bay
I hope to continue the amazing work CNE has done in previous semesters, including our Farmers Market Tabling, Alameda Food Bank volunteering, and Puppy Yoga. I’m also excited to bring new ideas to life this semester, such as collaborating with local schools and building off the creativity and input of our semester, such as collaboration with local schools and building off the creativity and input of our members. CNE is such a collaborative and passionate community, and I’m grateful to be part of it!
